The CAD Technician will support the electrical design and engineering team by preparing accurate 2D drawings and electrical documentation using AutoCAD Electrical. The role involves producing detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts to support the design, manufacture, and installation of electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Produce and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Create and maintain drawing templates, symbol libraries, and project files within AutoCAD Electrical.
• Generate and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Support engineers in the development of control system drawings and panel assembly documentation.
• Apply company and industry drawing standards to ensure consistency and quality.
• Ensure all drawings are properly filed, referenced, and version-controlled.
• Liaise with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to clarify design intent and resolve drawing-related issues.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of CAD processes and practices.

Essential experience:

• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience using AutoCAD Electrical for producing electrical drawings and documentation.
• Good understanding of electrical components, wiring, and control panel layouts.
• Knowledge of drawing standards (BS, IEC, or UL) and electrical drafting conventions.
• Experience working within a multi-disciplinary engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
